Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, invites us to engage in deep introspection, reflecting on the past year and seeking renewal in the year ahead. It's a time for returning to oneself, fostering personal growth, and pursuing good health.

Many of our at-risk youth at Neve Hanna Children's Home experienced the acts of terrorism that unfolded on Shabbat morning, October 7, 2023, in the border region of the Gaza Strip, from which our city, Kiryat Gat, is just over 15 miles away. Our staff of psychologists and social workers have stepped up the therapeutic programs to assist with the additional trauma that comes with war. It is a situation that causes great mental and physical stress. The uncertainty of what will happen next adds to that stress. To keep all our children, the staff, and the volunteers from Israel and abroad safe, we must add sheltered space throughout the children's campus. We must also add additional psychological therapy for every child. Help us to improve this situation for the mental and physical well-being of all family members of the Neve Hanna community.

Dr. Bob Braitman, Past International President of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs (FJMC), is calling upon the members of our community to join the FJMC King of the Hill-Neve Hanna Individual Walking Challenge. The challenge aims to promote better health through Wellworksforyou, a competitive app-based walking program, while also raising funds for Neve Hanna Children's Home, which provides support to at-risk youth in Israel. This is a great opportunity to come together for a worthy cause while improving their well-being.

Objectives:

Promote health, fitness, and wellness awareness.
Foster leadership, teamwork, and camaraderie.
Integrate wellness programs into our core mission.
Raise funds and promote awareness for Neve Hanna Children's Home.
